Accounts Payable Assistant

This position is up to 18 hours per week, worked Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30 am-5:00 pm.

Job Summary:
  • Processes all accounts payable disbursements and files corresponding documents.
  • Inputs invoices into the accounting system (MIP Fund Accounting).
  • Verifies payments to vendors and answers vendor inquiries.
  • Files documents and mails checks.
  • Assists with annual audit.
  • Performs other related duties as required of the Fiscal Services department.
  • Contributes to a positive and productive work environment.
  • Must be relied upon to exercise good judgment, use effective problem solving skills and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be able to meet scheduling requirements by arriving to work on time and staying until the end of the scheduled shift.

Job Requirements:
  • Graduation from high school or high school equivalency.
  • One year of experience performing accounts payable tasks or other related accounting or bookkeeping duties.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook and accounting/finance software is required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors and co-workers and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must pass a post offer background screening.
