Schedule:
This is a full time position working 40 hours a week.  All library administrative staff may be required to work evenings, Saturdays and Sundays, throughout the year as part of the normal work schedule.

Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Sr. Organizational Development and Training Specialist assists in the training, development and recruitment administrative functions of the Human Resources Department.  This position will assist in maintaining records of staff training, required certifications and data processing in the LMS, and other training duties.  In addition, this position will also support the hiring, onboarding and offboarding of employees. 

Essential Functions

Training

  • Organize and maintain training schedules, calendars, and materials.
  • Prepare and distribute training documentation, such as agendas, slides and handouts.
  • Track attendance and gather feedback from participants.
  • Maintains accurate records of employee participation and training using the Learning Management Software and other tracking tools.
  • Track, respond to and process tuition reimbursements and conference requests.
  • Support the maintenance and communication of BCPL's training calendar.
  • Manage and track mandatory compliance and certification requirements, enduring timely completion of continuing education units by employees.
  • Coordinates virtual and in person training sessions, including booking venues, equipment and catering if needed.
  • Communicates with trainers, attendees and vendors to ensure smooth operations at events.
  • Assists with set-up and troubleshooting of presentation equipment and in virtual training platform sessions.

Recruitment
  • Maintains and updates applicant tracking system, including vacancies, templates and applicant status.
  • Posts job openings on applicant tracking system and various platforms, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Manage, organize, update and maintain compliance with recruitment documentation.
  • Respond to candidate inquires in a timely manner.
  • Assists with prescreens and interview schedules.
  • Prepares and distributes interview documentation.
  • Helps coordinate onboarding process for new hires.

Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, AA degree or higher preferred. 
  • Minimum two (2) years of customer service experience, preferably in an office environment.
  • Experience in a Human Resources environment is a plus.
  • Computer skills demonstrated through the proficient use of Microsoft applications.

We have a 14 step pay scale. Internal applicants starting pay varies based on their current step on the salary scale. We also offer, as appropriate, overtime pay, comp. time, and differential pay.
