Schedule:
This is a full time position working 40 hours a week. All library administrative staff will be required to work evening, Saturdays, and Sundays throughout the year as part of the normal work schedule.

Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Financial Analyst, ensures financial information is recorded accurately. Performs reconciliations of internal accounts. Prepares bank reconciliations. Reviews payroll master file changes, vendor master file changes and reviews bi-weekly payroll registers and periodic accounts payable disbursement registers. Assists in the preparation of the operating budget and capital budget. Assists in all necessary accounting functions that monitor and maintain the daily operation for the Administrative office and branches. 
  • Reconciles bank accounts, cash draw downs, capital budget allocations, and credit card revenue
  • Creates, reviews and approves journal entries
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual closing fiscal reports
  • Assists with Payroll and Timekeeping software database management and biweekly processing
  • Assists in the Purchasing Card Program for Library staff
  • Assists in the electronic processing, preparation, and distribution of 1099s, W-2s, 941s, 940s and other filings
  • Assists independent auditors in preparation of the annual audit
  • Assists in the compilation and preparation of the Annual Fiscal Operating Budget for the library
  • Actively supports teamwork
  • Encourages and supports continuous staff development
  • Maintains flexibility, good judgement, and confidentiality
  • Must be able to meet scheduling requirements by arriving to work on time and staying until the end of one's shift
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends and be flexible with one's work schedule to meet daily operational requirements
  • Must have access to transportation, as needed, to fulfill the responsibilities of the position (including meetings, events, and activities at other branch locations or offsite)

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in accounting, business, or finance
  • One year of progressively increasing experience in accounting and reconciliations
  • Must be able to use various software, including Microsoft applications, and other technology to perform essential duties
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and push/pull a wheeled cart weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to read small print
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to use a computer for extended periods of time

We have a 14 step pay scale. Internal applicants starting pay varies based on their current step on the salary scale. We also offer, as appropriate, overtime pay, comp. time, and differential pay.
