All branch staff are required to work evenings and Saturdays throughout the year as a part of the normal work schedule. Sunday rotations are required and may be at a location that is not the regular branch. Sunday rotations run from Labor Day through Memorial Day.*
Regular Schedule
Under the general direction of the supervisory team, proactively assists customers with their diverse library needs. This includes providing basic information, materials advisory, computer and device assistance and performing various support duties, such as shelving and merchandising library materials, processing returned materials, assisting with reserves and communicating library rules and policies. Assists with programs and outreach events, based on operational needs of location.

1. Processes all material types and devices 2. Processes daily monies, prepares revenue reports and makes bank deposits 3. Performs routine collection maintenance duties, including but not limited to shelving, merchandising, shelf reading and processing various reports (examples: weeding, customer hold requests) 4. Creates/manages library customer accounts, including accepting, managing and negotiating payments (cash and electronic) 5. Assists customers with all library services, including registering for appointments and reserving meeting spaces (in-person, via phone or virtually) 6. Uses the library’s website or catalog to search, locate and reserve an item in the library’s catalog or from other library systems and performs basic materials advisory 7. Assists customers with navigating website and accessing databases 8. Assists customers with using public computers, including navigating online resources and using desktop software 9. Assists customers with downloading library digital content to devices 10.Assists customers with general technology questions and needs 11.Assists customers with library equipment and services, such as scanning, printing, copying, faxing and use of self-service stations 12.Assists with programs and outreach events based on operational needs of location from individual to group instruction covering all age groups, both in-person and virtually (examples: hosting a movie night event, staffing a passive program, preparing or setting up crafts or other program activities, sharing programming ideas) 13.Assists with branch-specific daily operations and tasks such as opening/closing procedures
